Children of the Nations Sierra Leone Girls Septic System Project Report

Children's Homes, Banta, Sierra Leone
The girls living at our Children's Home in Banta, Sierra Leone needed a new septic system. Because of the old system's size, depth, and improper system connections, it could not accommodate the number of girls living there. It often needed to be cleaned out, and we had already dug several overflow pits. These were not permanent solutions.
The new septic system for the Girls' Children's Homes measures 15' in length, 10' in width and 10' in depth. It was built with cement blocks with stronger reinforcement bars. We were able to hire laborers to dig the new trenches and mold the new blocks.
Now, 31 girls living in our Sierra Leone Children's Homes have an odor-free septic system that can accommodate all of them for years to come. This project was completed in January 2020.
Here is a flyover video of our Sierra Leone campus. The Children's Homes are shown about two minutes into the video. This video was taken before the new septic system was installed: https://youtu.be/269gib5LVes.
Thank you for taking care of the health and hygiene needs of girls in Sierra Leone!

Dear Reverend Dace Skudina and the Congregations of the Latvian Evangelical Lutheran Church in
America,
Please accept my deepest gratitude for your gift of $11,541.00, which completely funded the
following three projects:
• Girls' Septic Project in Sierra Leone
• Village Rain Gear in Sierra Leone
• Mosquito Net Project for the Khamalathu Women in Malawi
Because of you, the girls living in our Children's Home in Sierra Leone will have a safe, hygienic, and
dignified living space. Children in our Village Partnership Program in Sierra Leone will have
umbrellas and raincoats, which will help them to stay healthy and attend school regularly. Women in
our Khamalathu Program will be able to make and distribute mosquito nets, which will help children
stay free from disease. Our staff will be sure to provide you regular updates on all three projects.
Thank you for making a life-changing difference for children.
Sincerely,

Chris Clark
