Projekta Apraksts

organization currently serves in Sierra Leone, Malawi, Uganda, the Dominican Republic, and
Haiti, providing care to orphaned and destitute children.

The girls living at our Children's Home in Sierra Leone need a new septic system.
The current system cannot accommodate the number of girls living there. The system often
needs to be cleaned out, and we have already dug several overflow pits. But these are not
permanent solutions.
You can help provide the girls in our Children's Home with a new septic system that will last
for years to come. This system will make the Home a healthier, more hygienic place for
everyone who lives there.
Impact Story
Six-year-old Mariama in Sierra Leone lived in a
village that had no toilets or latrines. Because
human waste seeped into the ground and
contaminated the village water supply, Mariama

and other children were at high risk of getting
sick from bacteria. With no safe way to dispose
of waste, Mariama and the rest of her village
had no choice but to drink and bathe in dirty
water.
But Children of the Nations helped Mariama's
village build toilets! With a safe and hygienic
toilet, Mariama was less likely to get sick and got to enjoy a happier, healthier childhood.
Why Is This Project Needed?
• The current septic system cannot accommodate the number of girls living in our
Children's Home.
• Pumps, overflow pits, and manually removing waste may make the girls' wing livable,
but they are not long-term solutions. Only a new septic system will be a sustainable
solution.
Strategy
Install a new septic system for the girls' wing of the Children's Home in Sierra Leone.
Outcomes
1. A safe, hygienic living space for the girls in our Children's Home.
2. Reduced labor and repair costs over time, since the new septic system will not require
as much upkeep.
Your Opportunity
We are seeking a total investment of $2,589.
Your gift will provide the girls in our Children's Home with a new septic system. You will
make sure that the girls have a safe, hygienic, and dignified living space. Thank you for caring
for our girls in Sierra Leone!
